Action! Squigs Sketches Cinema Magic at the Pulitzer-Winning The Flick Off-Broadway

Annie Baker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play The Flick will call “cut” on its off-Broadway return early next year. Before the Sam Gold production wraps on January 10, 2016, Broadway.com resident artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson stopped by to catch a performance and pen this sketch of the current cast in their movie theater finest. Pictured left to right is Nicole Rodenburg as Rose, Danny Wolohan as Sam and Kyle Beltran as Avery, with Brian Miskell lurking in the back as the Dreaming Man. About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
